10/24/2017 0 Comments Academic Ambitions at PDOEntering Phaung Daw Oo school in the Aungmyaytharsan township in Mandalay is like walking into a vast village of over 8000 happy and hardworking children. The smiles on their faces say everything. Not only do the children work but they also play. The atmosphere is relaxed and the children are given the chance to realise their potential academically or vocationally. Sayadaw U Nayaka is the inspirational founder and Principal of the school. In addition to the “Bridging” and “Pre-college” programmes for those who want to continue higher education, PDO is embarking on an ambitious academic programme to offer university degree level education. “My idea is that students will study part of the curriculum here at PDO and the rest of the programme abroad. Several foreign Universities are interested to partner with us on this adventure and we are going full steam ahead to make degree level education become a reality,” said Sayadaw U Nayaka.
