Dear Friends
The past two years saw soaring costs for energy and basic necessities making life very difficult for all of us particularly the less fortunate. Security and safety of our friends and family continue to be of concern and yet the need for donations in Myanmar is greater than ever. Despite the challenges, in the past financial year, we were able to double our efforts and able to donate to more parahita schools than in the previously. In continuing to remember BEST Founder U Nay Win’s life and honour his legacy, we selected 9 schools around Yangon for the U Nay Win Sunshine Memorial Fund benefitting over 1000 children. The Sunshine donations were made by the BEST Myanmar team on 23rd October 2023. A few months later on 2nd of March in 2024, we are delighted to be able to make donations to 9 more parahita schools in Myanmar. In addition to these parahita schools, we were able to donate to 15 other buddhist institutions with total donations exceeding 40 million kyats. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our donors, the trustees, the BEST Myanmar team, in particular Daw Theingi Hlaing who helped coordinate the efforts in Myanmar and for making these donations possible.
